Final !
Rationale

Yeap, this is the piece without the masking liquid. I had to peel it off to give it the real “batik” effect. As you can see, the lines are kind of thick and while peeling the masking liquid off, some parts actually tore. Had to be real careful. Anyways, I have tried to bring out the effect of my art work by blending the colours which is of my style. I created the scenery with his batik designs and maintained my own style too. What caught my attention about this artist were his batik styles, he actually links them to traditional and cultural aspects of art. Therefore, I felt that the best way to fuse our styles together was to create a scenery with his batik designs.

Final- Part 1

Hey guys, this is the final piece with the masking liquid on. It's my first time using this liquid and i kinda had lots of difficulties as I did not have the right equipment. Anyways, this is the fusion of my style with the artist’s one. The other piece which I would be uploading is the one without the masking liquid.

2nd Development Stage

This is the 2nd piece i came out with. Its a really rough sketch. I also labelled where i would be showing my style. In this piece, i tried to show both our styles but it didn't seem quite right. However after the consultation with shirlyn, i realised that our styles didnt fuse quite well together, instead it looked like patch work. So, i needed to come out with another piece with these things in mind.

1st Development Stage

This is the 1st piece i came out with. After the consultation with shirlyn, i learnt that this piece was more of the artist's style instead of mine. I agree to it too. There is practically nothing on landscape but this piece only emphasize on the batik designs. Therefore, i needed to come out with another piece which shows both my style and his style.

My Style

These are few of my works and as u can see, it is about landscape and scenery. I mostly do my art pieces in black and white. Not only that, i also like to use d smudging technique to bring out the effects of my drawings. As for the coloured piece, it is a scenery painting which i did using acrylic paint and i emphasized on the blending of the colours too.

Cheers =)

His Artworks

I decided to fuse my designs with his because his designs are different and unique. While mine is more to landscape and scenery, his is more to the traditional and cultural aspect of art which also links to the Art and Crafts movement. I feel that it would be a challenge for me to link both of our designs together however, it’s going to be interesting too.
